“Lawyers as Inventors” Essay Contest as part of the Lily Thomas Memorial 2.0 conference [Last Date For Submission- 4th December]

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of the famous deceased lawyer Lily thomas, his law firm, Lily Thomas and Saju Jakob, lawyers and lawyers, organize Contest for writing articles “Lawyers as inventors”, as part of the inaugural series of memorial lectures on the constitution, which includes prices of up to Rs. 10,000 / -.

The topic of this year’s competition, which will be held as part of the second edition of the Adv commemorative lecture series. Lily Thomas, a pioneer in public interest litigation in India, will be:

“Ambience and extent of the responsibility / liability of a public official, in India, for breach of public office or the protection of fundamental rights in the exercise of public office”.

Essay Writing Competition invites / calls for papers to be published on the important topic of accountability of public official positions, especially civil servants, central / state governments, PSUs, nationalized banks and others agents who use public money for the public cause.

The competition is organized for the purpose of promote lawyers as INVENTORS for social transformation and the transmission of the importance of morality and constitutional values ​​in public life.

The competition is open to law students, lawyers, legal professionals, journalists and academics and anyone interested in other related fields.


Submission deadline: December 04, 2021 at 11:45 p.m.

Commemorative conference: December 12, 2021 at 4:15 p.m.

Declaration of results: December 12, 2021


Word limit: 1600-1800 words (excluding footnotes and abstract).

No co-author is allowed. Multiple entries for the same authors are not allowed.

Individual attachments: Name; contact details; current academic status (if applicable); Year, university / college, etc. commitment to guarantee originality.

Quote Style: 19th edition of the Bluebook.

The Character font must be Times New Roman, font size – 12 and leading is 1.5


Winner: Rs. 10,000 / – with certificate of appreciation.

First dolphin: Rs. 5,000 / – with certificate of appreciation.

Second finalist: Rs. 3,000 / – with certificate of appreciation.

The next seven participants will each receive Rs. 1,000 / – and a certificate of appreciation. The articles of the three best candidates will be published on our official website. The top three participants will have a two-minute opportunity to present their papers at the commemorative conference. Active participants attending the Memorial Lecture on December 12, 2021 at 4:15 p.m. will receive a certificate of participation.


All interested participants should send their papers with abstracts by 04 December 2021 with the subject “Lawyers as inventors”. Essays should be emailed to [email protected]. Participants must send their personal data / contact details. Any late submission will not be taken into account. Results will be announced on 12 December 2021 in the Memorial Lecture, details of which will be uploaded later / soon.
